Unfortunately, two days ago some terrorists have attempted to destroy our supposedly tolerant, open and democratic way of life, trying to spread hatred and panic among Spanish society. And actually, they have definitely succeeded at spreading hate. From Thursday, I have seen several islamophobic articles published on online news channels as well as people on social media echoing these publications; therefore I have decided to write an open letter to the racist and islamophobic rubbish published after the sad attacks

Desafortunadamente, hace dos días algunos desalmados terroristas han atentado de nuevo contra nuestra supuesta forma de vida tolerante, abierta y democrática y han intentado sembrar el odio y el pánico entre la sociedad española. Freedom of religion: a Spanish tale.

Spain, as a non confessional state, should guarantee the freedom of religion of all its citizens. However, a few days ago, I was reading a Spanish newspaper and I came across this headline “An education centre in Valencia prevents a Muslim student to come in with hijab” http://ccaa.elpais.com/ccaa/2016/09/16/valencia/1474014928_157421.html?id_externo_rsoc=FB_CM. It sounded shockingly absurd so I read the article. A 22 year old Spanish born and bred student was prevented from entering the education centre in which she was studying for declining the offer
